Concerts

In our usual style we have been to a couple of concerts recently, the first was Angus and Julia Stone in London. I first heard this brother and sister duo at the Australia Day festivities in Sydney 2007 on my birthday. I loved the music and listened to the CD constantly. It was a lovely concert, apart from the people who insisted on talking through it. It is something that Peter and I have noticed at concerts around these parts, especially antipodean ones, that people (usually women) have this obsession with talking. Why bother going, it's just plain rude!

The second concert we went to was Mark Knopfler at the Birmingham NEC. This was also excellent, although he started at 7:30 which was not what we were expecting so we missed the first little bit. We had great seats and he played some Dire Straits classics. After the concerts we were booked in to a hotel 'nearby' and despite being told to take a taxi we decided to walk. The walk took us along a dual carriage way with no foot path and a large expo centre with all it's dark carparks and buildings. We did make it, but when a hotel says take a taxi, listen to them!
