Metallica

So after Live Earth and getting home at 2am we then headed back to London for Metallica, again at Wembley Stadium. This time we were sitting up in the stands, way way up in the stands!

I have never been to a metal concert and felt very out of place in my blue t-shirt, everyone was wearing black, obviously. Here was the view from the top...
Check out the huge amount of black cloth used to cover the stands behind the stage. Here is a 'close up' of the crowd behind the D barrier, I couldn't get over how many people there were.

The concert was good, but not quite as enjoyable as Live Earth. There were quite a few songs I didn't know but Peter was signing along nicely for most of it so I think we both had our favorite concerts.

One thing that still constantly amazes me is the post concert crowd control that is in place to enable everyone to get home afterwards. We had to walk down a long pedestrian street to the tube station and as we got closer to the station we came across mounted police that were effectively people chicanes, when they wanted to stop the people getting to the station they all turned sideways and unless you wanted a policeman's boot in your face, or a horse poo in your face there wasn't much you could do about it. So yay for the met for such a great job! We even got home by midnight which was good as it was a school night.
