Right so just to prove that the fine didn't taint my view of Rome too much. After our 'incident' we spent a long time walking the streets of Rome. After the fountain we went to Piazza Colonna which basically had a big column with hieroglyphics all over it. On the way to the Pantheon we passed by a little shop that had marble fruit. It was very bizarre, when we walked in I thought how strange this gift shop has fruit in it, but it is Italy so maybe that's normal. Peter then asked me to pick on up and it was really heavy and cold. It was marble! Totally amazing.
Obviously the next stop was the Pantheon which was very cool indeed. Literally it was roasting outside and nice and chilly inside. But honestly the pantheon was very interesting and really big.
Then it was a short walk up to the Piazza Della Repubblica for a gander where was happened upon a Leonardo da Vinci exhibition of some of his gadgets in working interactive models. Obviously there were 'No Photo' allowed but Peter did take this sneaky one from a device used to help artists see all sides of a person.
Next on the list was the Spanish Steps, no proposals and not a great deal of beautiful people these days. Just masses of tourists. They are also right next to the place where Keats spent his last days. We did a 'Where's Emily' photo for your viewing pleasure.
Then it was time for our LONG walk home and a well earned sleep.
