After my reconnaissance mission of the shower block I went off to the camp shop to buy soap, (which I always manage to forget to take with me) and loo paper (as they had really run out now). Once we were showered and breakfasted we headed off to the lookout again to catch our hop on hop off sightseeing tour.
I know a lot of people slag these off but Peter and I quite like them as it's a great way to see all the major things and know what you want to go back to. Our first stop was Palazzo Pitti, a big old building which apparently had nice gardens. We went in to have a look at the gardens, which turned out to be quite nice, but not quite up to the English nice garden standard.
After that we hopped back on our bus and headed up to a lovely little town called Fiesole. This little town is set up in the hills outside of Florence and was quite beautiful, although there was not a great deal to do and our feet were quite sore after our two hours in the gardens. We hopped off and got a drink and then hopped on the bus and headed down into the center of Florence.
We mooched around looking at the sights, there were so many! We spent a bit of time on the Ponte Vecchio (the only bridge in Florence to survive the war) that was once full of butcher shops and now houses an awful lot of gold shops. once we had done that we ambled back to our campsite for an afternoon drink and a nap.
After our nap we had a very cheap, but reasonable pizza from the camp cafe and then it was back to the look out for the sunset. Oh and lots of photos! While Peter was photographing I watched the spray paint artist and listened to his groovy sounds (the same ones and order as the night before).
Once again it was back to our tent for a hot then freezing night to rest our tired feet.
