Coles Classic

On my last weekend in Sydney I went to Manly Beach to watch Allen (one of my colleagues) swim in the Cole's Classic, which is a swimming race off Manly Beach. Allen had entered into the 2km swim along with around a thousand other people. Needless to say there were a lot of 'banana hammocks' and a lot of skin on display, a little weird I must say.

Allen did really well and beat his target time, probably due to the jellyfish that he had to swim through.
See lots of swimmers!
It was a totally gorgeous day and the rest of the afternoon was spent sleeping on the beach under an umbrella. There was no way I was going in the water with the amount of jelly fish (blue bottles) around. It was quite amusing as they have a PA system at the beach for the life guards to use and after they made their first jellyfish announcement everyone was out of the water quick as a flash.
Manly Beach, lovely
This lovely day was topped off with a very yummy steak and then the ferry ride back to the CBD for some sleep.
