Well the snow fell and now we are stuck with it and freezing temperatures. The day after the big snowfall Peter and I both worked at home. Day 2, Peter spent an hour digging his car out and made it to work. I worked at home. By the end of the day a lot of our neighbours were digging out drives and the road. When Peter got home he said some of the neighbours were out digging the bottom of the road and we should go and help. I wasn't so keen having spent a good hour digging out our own drive, but off we went. We discovered that they were doing this as one of our neighbours is due to move today and they were expecting a truck.
Anyway, we are doing fine. The house is nice and warm. We are still using our summer duvet and turning the heating right down during the night. I am working from home and Peter is making it in to work (as long as they don't run out of grit). Hopefully we are able to do a food shop on the weekend. I think now people are just getting used to this snow.
I suppose I should take some pictures...

yeah, photos!
Keep posting Em, this is really interesting stuff! Loved your story about the epic 7 hour trip home. Make sure you get some photos of the extreme snow as this will be a story to tell the grandkids! :-)
