Rarotonga

On Monday we headed to Rarotonga for our honeymoon. We were after a nice relaxing holiday in the sun and that it pretty much what we got. Admittedly we arrived to a cloudy day which turned into a wet day and it stayed like that for the next three days. It turns out that we were on the edge of a tropical cyclone so we were quite lucky to escape the worst of it really. Despite the rain and wind the temperature remained in the high 20's and we were still able to snorkel and kayak without too much discomfort.
Our first stay was at the Royale Takitumu Villas which were lovely. The hosts were excellent and we would highly recommend this place for a romantic special get away! After that we moved down the road to Muri Beach Cottages at Muri Beach. This place was a lot cheaper but it was still lovely (if a little hot!) Just down the beach were some lovely restaurants and we certainly ate well while we were away. I think our favorite local food was the ika mata, being keen sushi lovers the thought of eating raw fish was not a problem for us and I would recommend this dish to anyone, yum!

One of the 4WD tracks, what a fun one!

Beach house 2, hot but lovely!

Looks like a great trip! I am very jealous! Totally know what you mean about the diving though - not sure I would handle it either!
