Apologies for the very slack effort on the blog front for the last four months! Perhaps I am tiring of this or perhaps it is that we haven't really been anywhere of note for the last four months. So here is a little bit of an update for you...
Peter's 30th birthday present. What? I hear you say, well I got Peter a track day for his 30th birthday present and he finally got round to booking it. He choose to spend the morning driving a selection of super cars around a "track". The track was an abandoned airfield which was very spooky as there were a whole lot of empty hangers dotted around. Anyway, I think Peter enjoyed it and he got to drive lots of cars. I even had a go, or rather I was driven round the track by a racing driver, very cool!
I headed over to Australia and New Zealand in late October early November and worked like crazy in Sydney for hopefully the last time. I managed to catch up with Luke and Annie, and Clarissa. I also managed to get out on the harbour for a colleagues birthday which at times was a little nerve wracking as there really are a lot of boats on the water! Then it was off to NZ to get everything organised for the big day, and I was pretty successful in that really, which was good and relived a lot of stress. Thank-you so much Rachael, Tania and Deborah with all your help on the invites (and Peter for helping on the UK ones). Other then that I was very slack and didn't catch up with many people at all, so sorry to all those I missed.
When I returned home shortly afterwards our friend David came to stay with us for a while. There were a few days that we took him out and about but our hands were so cold that we didn't take many photos. David did take some and you can find them here if you are interested.
Next on the list was our company Christmas party. I thought I should put in a bit of effort and went and bought a proper party frock to wear. The food was YUMMY but alas there was too much for me. The entertainment for the evening was a mind reader. He was a kiwi and very spooky. He did lots of 'tricks' and here was one. He gave Peter a book and got him to choose a page at random and then look at the word in the top left corner and then he went through the alphabet while looking into Peter's eyes, all Peter had to do was look at him. He did this twice and then told Peter what the word was, it was right. So you may be thinking, he memorised all the top left corner words so he gave me the book and told me to pick any word, longer then 5-6 letters. Once I had done that I had to say two other words and then from the way I said the words he guessed what the word was that I had picked. Now we do have some pretty intelligent people working for us and no-one could figure out how he did it.
After that Peter and I both got sick the week before Christmas, along with about the rest of the UK I think so a few lazy days spent recovering. The Sunday before Christmas we had the family Christmas lunch at a Chinese restaurant in London. It was yummy and lovely to catch up with the family.
The Christmas Day, Peter and I had a lazy morning and then it was off to London to see our friends Ben and Rowena. They had gone to a lot of effort and followed Nigela's Christmas menu almost to the letter. This resulted in a very yummy Christmas lunch :-) Then it was back home to Reading. Peter and I both had a go driving in London, but on Christmas day it doesn't really count.
Finally Peter had his first gig with his new band on Saturday night, of course he played well and the band were pleased with his performance :-)
This year we have the wedding and maybe one or two other trips yet to be planned. I also have my Kinesiology assessment which I am studying for now, best get back to it really, 90 corrections to learn...
