Well our great plan of walking and camping were hampered slightly by the inclement weather. Yeah yeah, I know we are pikers, but the thought of camping in the rain in England isn't that appealing! As it turned out it didn't rain too much and we could have camped! There was also a thought in my head that I wont have a weekend at home for six weeks so I was happy to find an excuse to be a home body and get some things done.
Anyway, the walk... we did decide to walk from Abingdon (where we finished last time) to Dorchester (where we have been before). This was further then what we had planned to do on our three day camp and walk trip but it turned out to be about the same distance from Oxford to Abingdon, which is a good day's walk. All in all a lovely day and it was a lot nicer then the block between Oxford and Abingdon.
One strange thing was when we got to Dorchester we had to cross the Thames over a weir, however the weir was closed, so we managed to find a cross country temporary path that also went through the grounds of a lovely manor house! Bizarre.
I won't bore you with any more words, Peter has a new camera so you can look at the photos that he took here
