Thank-you to all those people who have kindly sponsored me for the Race for Life! You have all provided me with a great deal of motivation to get on with my training (7 weeks to go!)
Today I have downloaded a training schedule from Reebok (one of the sponsors) and I will be starting my training next week. I am planning on running the entire distance and for someone like me who "doesn't run, unless there is a fire", I think that is a great goal to go for.
I will be putting updates on here so you can see how my training is going, I may even splash out and buy a good training watch for any future races I may do. I know someone who is training for a marathon and they have a dedicated website where they put all their training included plots of their heart rate while training and profiles of their courses! That seems a little hard out for me!
If you haven't yet sponsored me and would like to (it's all for a good cause!) you can do so by clicking on the link on the right.

I have finally got round to signing up for the Race for Life. This is a 'fun' run/jog/walk that takes place around many places in the UK. I have chosen to do the 5km race in Oxford on the 2nd June 2007. The countdown has begun!
My main motivation to do this race is for my extended family members that have been affected by cancer. I guess we all feel that it would be nice to be able to do more to help so I see this as just that little more that may help someone, somewhere down the line...
I'll keep you all posted on the training (if any!) and of course the race day.

Umm, perhaps...
I thought I should get in training for bigger things ;-)
