New Zealand

I managed to wangle a very short visit to New Zealand on the end of my trip to Australia. Of course that is easy to do if you request to fly Air New Zealand. Anyway I arrived on Friday afternoon and was met by my parents who were on their way back from a camping holiday so they squeezed me in and whisked me off to sunny Devonport.

It was so lovely to see my family and catch up with Deborah about some wedding things, I even got to see part of her outfit that she will wear on the big day!

On Saturday afternoon I spent some time with Anna, Rachael, Dave, and Tania. Tania and Rachael were in training for their Trail Walker so they were walking from Bethells Beach to Muriwai so Anna and I met them at Muriwai and then had some yummy fish and chips at Rachael and Dave's place. It was so lovely to be around some dear friends.

On the way home from Rachael and Daves, Anna and I decided to drop in on a party at the Green Pub, it was very last minute but I'm really glad I went as there were some people there I hadn't seen in ages which certainly made it worth the stop.

Sunday was a family day and so we went out for a lovely breakfast (I can't stress how much I miss good food!) and then I got to see Deborah and Kynan's new home. They haven't moved in yet but as soon as I saw it I thought, 'it's a Deborah house!' It's in such a lovely area and so close to the water, I'm looking forward to seeing them in it on the next visit. In the afternoon I had a surprise visit from two of my oldest and dearest friends from school, Al and Warwick. It was so lovely to see them both again and hear about what they have been up to, it's always a laugh with those two around.
