Blenheim Park

Well nothing too exciting about this one, just a wonder around a park near us. It was probably one of the last summer days we had. What I found amazing was the vast number of pheasants running about the park! The very tall monument is from Queen Anne to the Duke of Malborough (1st) for his great war efforts in France in 1705 near the village of Blenheim.

Nice park! Doesn't the monument look similar to the one in Trafalgar Square!?! No originality back then obviously!

So crazy that you have such beautiful huge castle/parks just down the road! Although I did have a chuckle at the fact that the glorious monument is seemingly in the middle of a random sheep paddock :D

Indeed it was, smack bang in the middle of a sheep paddock. However if you could look at a plan view there would be a big long drive lined with double rows of cherry trees, the monument and then the drive over the bridge up to the front door, all very grand!

Bex, it does look like trafalgar square monument and also one we saw in Budapest, http://www.flickr.com/photos/emilyandpeter/164308287/in/set-72157594161601722/. Must have indeed been in vouge!
