The White Horse and Stonhenge

Our final day of the Easter tour was a bit more country driving to see a huge white horse that is carved into a hill. It is about impressive as it sounds but it is very old and the view from the hill was spectacular. We timed our visit extremely well as it stopped raining as we got out of the car and started again as we were getting into the car.

We then headed down to Stonehenge which I found totally awesome. There is a road that runs very close to it but English Heritage has made a real effort to preserve the site and stone while still being able to see a lot. An added bonus for us was that with our NZ Heritage cards we got in for free. I had always known that Stonehenge and a little bit about it but I didn't really have much of an idea about it's alignment with respect to the sun rises. It really held my interest and it was a very serene place to be. Loved it and I'm glad we can go back for free again!
